Seven Poetry

There were seven siblings,
Playing soccer in a yard,
The oldest slipped but scored,
Even though she did not rap it hard,
Danielle rolled around laughing,
Because Ben let the oldest score,
Desi let the ball fling,
Lyle almost blundered but kicked it to Tim,
Tim did a summersalt and thumped it with his heel,
Caleb flipped, collided then scored,
So it was a huge deal.

"Trip To Moba"

"The Flight"

     DAY 1
When we got to the end of the airstrip we quickly turned around and zoomed off, When we just got into the air just at the end of the airstrip Timothy spotted the van driving away.  The trees looked like brocoli and also pretty yummy.  The water was streaking across the windows.  We were at the beginning of a big lake and there was this streak of land that looked like the Boston Neck.  In the middle of the lake on the left side was a mission station with a grass airport.  A little up from the mission was a pretty big river that flowed out of the lake, the lake ended pretty soon after that.

"Getting Welcomed"

Ounce we got there, there was a huge crowd surrounding the plane.  The UN were just there and had just taken off, and so they dropped some UN soldiers off at Moba.  Then a choir began singing and they were very good.  Daniel ( one of the guys we brought ) was talking to some other guys and when they were done talking we got into the car ( which was 4-wheel-drive ) and started going slowly down to the church.  All that time  about a thousand people were dancing all around us.  They took us to a church and made all the congolise sit down while they prayed they were speaking in Swahili so I didn't know what they were saying, after that went to lunch whith this huge guy whose shirt is probaly going to rip soon:(  We had rice, salt fish, potato chips, and some other stuff.

"At the Beach"

DAY 2
On the second day we went to the beach on Lake Tanganika and stayed there all day.  At first me and Tim tryed to build a sand castle but the sand was to thin and it was soon made to rubble.  So after that I went over to this broken ship and then came back, and on the way back I think I bumped into a stump that used to hold a walkway about 50 feet I think out into the water so then I told Tim and we started trying to find the hichest one to jump off.  After that it started raining so we came inside a little hut because the rain was a lot colder than the water.  We had a delicious lunch of four fish that were cut in half and some stuff in it, plus manoise, some hot stuff, onions, some pop, and french fries.  After that Papa wanted to walk farther up so we went up, to where the waves were higher there, and the sand was stronger so we built a castle there, that stood for a long time.  And then we started to ride in the waves.  The waves there were a lot stronger and higher so it was funner than down by the restaraunt, Papa told us not to swim in the water because he didn't know if there were crocodiles there.  But it was hard not to so we started swimming in it.

Smart Timothy

     Caleb Michael Carlson
Descriptive writing
11/22/10

Timothy has dark blue eyes and blonde hair that shines when the sun hits it.  My brother wears a cotton t-shirt, long shorts, and boxers that keep him cool.  Climbing the mango trees makes him a pretty strong boy.  Tim stands 5 feet and 5 inches which is tall for his age.  The tween is twelve and has long brown eyelashes.  He has no freckles or dimples like me.  My obedient brother has a very motivated brain when he does school.  He doesn't easily get distracted bye me and bends down his head while he writes.  How perfect to have a brother like Tim.
